Sound Usage

This is where you assign the sound files to use for each position in the script.

You can either use the robot sound (computer-generated speech) or a library sound (that you've uploaded using the web or recorded over the phone in the sounds wizard - see dmNote 3421).

SBPath This is the code for the sound's location in the script. This is reserved for a future advanced feature.

Script This is the text of the sound, as defined in the script.

Use robot Check this box to use computer-generated speech. Good for prototyping your script.

Use library sound Select from all uploaded sounds. You can use the same sound more than once.

Sound Library

This is where you can upload pre-recorded sounds and delete unwanted sounds.

Filename the name of the sound file. This may be a system-generated name (eg. 030612165910_01895.WAV - based on the date and time the sound was recorded) or a name of your own choosing (eg maingreeting.wav)

Date/Time the timestamp on the file

Size the length in bytes of the file. Files for uploading must be less than 1MB in length.

Play click here to listen to the sound (see dmNote 3422 for help with media players).

Delete we recommend that you delete obsolete files to avoid confusion and running out of space. This is done by checking the boxes of the files you want to delete and then pressing the Delete Marked Files button.

Add File type in the full path of the WAV file (eg. C:\sbsounds\greeting.wav) or press the Browse... button to locate the file on your computer, then press Upload. The system will try to convert from most forms of WAV into the internal format (8 kHz 8 bit Mono A-Law) and will also apply a filter to improve the sound quality over the phone.
