Nuisance calls from dmClub numbers
dmClub has a stock of thousands of telephone numbers and operates telephone services for thousands of customers. Most of whom are really wonderful companies, with great people to do business with.
Very occasionally we get a bad one.
Also sometimes fraudsters choose a callerID at random that happens to be in our ranges.
Here is how we can help you...
Make a complaint
If you think that our one of our customers has breached our terms and conditions, then please send in a formal complaint to support@dmclub.net subject "Formal Complaint".
- We do not accept anonymous complaints, but you may request that your identity is confidential
- If we have already shut down the customer, then we are sorry but there is nothing we can do with the complaint, if you think that is insufficient (which is may be), then you should contact the police, or other authority, and we can assist them.
Contact the police
If you think that there is a crime being committed, then contact the police, and they can get in touch with us. We can work with them.
http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/ is a good site to report fraud and cyber crime.
Contact the TPS
http://www.tpsonline.org.uk
You might mention to them, that we have tried to get in touch with them, but they have declined to work with us. We think that the TPS should be working with Telcos to reduce nuisance calls.

FAQ
How do I know if it's a dmClub number?
Use this useful online resource to lookup the number: http://www.telecom-tariffs.co.uk/codelook.htm if the operator is "Digital Mail" then it's likely one of our customers. It might also be one of our customers if the operator is "Magrathea Telecom" or "Invomo". Note that this resource tells you which operator a number was originally allocated to by Ofcom - if a number is ported, it doesn't know about that.
I am really annoyed with someone, who is doing something bad, can you give me their details?
No, there are privacy laws that prevent this, but we can give details to the police and other authorities.
If you have any questions that are not covered here, please email support@dmclub.net subject "Note 0999 FAQ suggestion"
I have been receiving calls from 020-3000-7950, can you help me?
If you send in a formal complaint to us we should be able to build a case against these people and then help. We believe this is an insurance "scam" operating out of South Africa. Unfortunately it is probably not illegal. The calls you received are not coming through our system - but if we get sufficient complaints, we can ask them to stop, but simply shutting that number down won't stop the outhbound calls campaign.
Note: As of 24-Aug-16 these calls should have stopped - let us know if you think they haven't
I have been receiving calls from 0161-939-0225, can you help me?
Not as much as we would like. Here's some background which may help:
0161-939-0225 is in one of our telephone number ranges. We supplied it to company who we do not wish to do business with ever again, and have told them! We can not say who they are, but a quick google might be useful.
There is a call centre making some very unpleasant calls, "spoofing" this phone number. It is called "spoofing" as they are pretending that their calls come from our network, but they does not. If they did, we could shut them done in the same way as before.
We suspect that they are being paid by a UK company who are selling a PPI claim service.
It might be a good idea if someone who was receiving these calls played along to find out who it was who was doing it, but be careful, because these are probably pretty tricky people.
There are probably enough annoyed people to make this pretty embarrassing for the company concerned (we do not know who they are).
We are in touch with the ICO, so please add your complaints at https://ico.org.uk/for-the-public/nuisance-calls/
We are concerned that there is no one part of government/regulatory bodies who has currently taken ownership of this in a holistic way.
If I ring you and am really rude to you about the spam calls from 0161-939-0225 , will that help?
That's not a good idea:
1) we have been trying to help stop these calls
2) We record all our calls, and we have the number you called from, even if you withhold it to the normal callers
3) We are not the people making these calls, nor are we the people who are paying for these calls to be made, so we do not control "the list"
What can be done to prevent these nuisance calls?
Well, it looks like Ofcom and the ICO are putting their heads together and have come up with an initiative that might just help:
http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/binaries/consultations/silentcalls/JAP_Update_Dec2015.pdf
Essentially, the idea is that the major networks can see traffic that bears the hallmarks of nuisance calling and then automatically put in a block on calls with those caller IDs. It's something we've been wanting for a long time. Let's just hope that the implementation is sensible and that not too many babies get thrown out with the bath water!
Complaints: how to make a complaint, and how not to!
Please note that NO ONE (even Police, regulatory authorities, trading standards, etc) is exempt from these requirements.
A good complaint about a bad person

Subj: Complaint about 020 7060 2000, involved in financial fraud.
On Mon 01 May 2017 10:56 (in the UK summer time), I made a phone call to 020 7060 2000 from my mobile 07123-456-654, following receiving a letter (scan enclosed as image1) from the Lunar Lottery Fund who had just told me that I had won £10,000,000. The lady on the line explained that I had won the money, but due to the lottery being on the moon, there was a processing fee of £55,000 to transfer the money, and gave the bank details of the Lunar Lottery Limited. On reflection afterwards I thought it a bit strange, as I realised that I had not purchased tickets from the Lunar Lottery.
I did a google on the number and came up with the following links
image 2 <insert link>
image 3 <insert link>
and I enclose the screen shots of the pages, in case they change.
My complaint is that these people are operating an advanced fee fraud, not only on me, but on lots of other people (see the 10 other complaints on the screen shots). Please could you investigate this.

1) specific crime, with documentation, phone call, which we can verify on our systems

This is something that we can do something about!
A not so good complaint
Hello there you b*******, don't you know that 020 7060 2000 are thieving s******, it's all over the internet, surely you are very bad people to allow this. Trust me, this person is bad, take my word for it - I am a very important person, and do not have time to go into details, and watch out my brother in law is a Chief Constable. You must shut this number down immediately or I will send my brother and his dobermann around to teach you a lesson.
1) The complainant is rude, and clearly exagerating
2) There is no specific allegation
3) The person does not give the impression of being a good judge
4) It is anonymous, maybe it is just a prank, or someone who hates the owners of 020 7060 2000, and would like them to be shut down
5) We live in a democracy, so influential friends should not interfere with justice, and people in public office should not abuse their power
