Shadow Numbers
Number shadowing is a powerful feature where any modern dmClub number can be a "shadow number" and act as if a call made to it was a call made to another number (the shadow master number) or extension on a dmSwitchboard12.
If the master number behaviour is changed, the shadow number will change in exactly the same way.
Note that shadow numbers don't have to be in the same number range as the shadow master numbers - so the costs involved (both in calling them and owning them) can be different
How to Use it
For dmConnect12 and dmVoice14
You can have one or more shadow numbers attached to a shadow master number
- Set it up using the "Shadow Number" setting in the web control
- Or, for multiple shadow numbers, in advanced mode, in the same way as for dmSwithcboard12 (see below)
For dmSwitchboard12
You can attach shadow number(s) to any extension
- Create a reception extension in shadow mode (this is a "shadow extension")
- Set it to be always closed
- Set "On Closed" to "Shadow Transfer"
- Select the extension that needs another number (this is the "shadow master extension")
Examples of use
- Migrating from 08 number to a cheaper-to-call number (eg 03, 0800 or Geo)
- Multiple numbers for a sales campaign
- When moving office to change your number
