Voice activated dialling
The easiest way to use dmCalls is by using the Voice Activated Dialler (VAD). This is also covered in the getting started section.
1 Enter your account by dialling one of our access numbers (Prepay Access 0800 198 6440, Pay As You Go access 08700 885 285)
2 Enter your account number and PIN if necessary.
3 You will hear the message "Dialler ready - ask me to call someone" followed by a short tone.
4 After the tone say just say: Call - Contact - Location, then press the # key (eg "Call Alexander Graham Bell Office", #).
Note: that if a contact ONLY has one phone number entered in your address book then it is not necessary to say the location. You can simply say "call - contact" (e.g. "Call Alexander Graham Bell"). If you are unable to get satisfactory recognition results with the Voice Activated Dialler try using the Voice Training.
Voice activated dialling tips
To improve the VAD recognitions here are a few tips:
- Give your spoken command as soon as the tone finishes
- Spell address book entries phonetically
- Use voice training to fine tune your address book
Touch tone dialling
You can also dial a number in the traditional manner by using your telephone keypad. Just access your account then without waiting for the prompt dial a number, followed by the # key (eg 020 7123 4567, #).
Using the # key
When using dial mode pressing the # key lets the system know that you have finished entering a command.
While this is optional, we recommend pressing # after spoken and dialled commands as shown above. This saves time and helps improve recognition as the system will not continue to listen for further commands.
Note: In dial mode pushing hash alone, without a command preceding it, will redial the last number you called.
Speed dial
To dial a speed dial (once you have already entered your dmCalls account) just press nn, # where nn is any speed dial entered into your address book from 01 to 99. You can also use direct speed dials (see our access section).
Redial
To redial the last number you called (once you have already entered your dmCalls account) simply say "redial" or push # on your key pad. You also can use direct redial (see our access section).
Going to help or command modes
After entering your dmCalls account you can go to Help mode by pressing 0, # or saying "help".
You can access Command mode by pressing *#
Terminating a call and returning to dial mode
Pressing * * * or # # # in quick succession will end to call you are currently making and return you to dial mode from where you can make another call.
