dmSwitchboard12 Voiceover Feature
. |
Level: Advanced |
What is the Feature?
It allows you to use your own recorded sound files as prompts on your dmSwitchboard12 service
What does it do?
When you activate a plan on dmSwitchboard12, the system generates "robot prompts" using a fairly basic TTS (Text To Speech) engine. This is very quick and convenient. However, human prompts sound better.
- You can configure a plan with the details of a customer filestore (a WebDAV server, not provided by dmClub)
- The plan editor can export a list of prompts (the manifest) and placeholder files
- You can record your sounds into the placeholder files with a soundfile editor and save them on your filestore
- When the plan is activated, your sounds are copied on the switchboard server and will be played to your callers
What are the benefits/uses of the feature?
- Present a more professional appearance to your callers
- When calls come in to your personal extensions, you can have a more understandable whisper (particularly useful when others might answer the phone)
- Have more control over the wording of the prompts
